I always forget how fun of a city Chicago is - and it's so close to Detroit! My favorite spot to stay is Soho House, which you're allowed to rent a room even if you're not a member, you just won't get the 20% off rate. They're just so cozy and comfortable. All of their Cowshed products are inside of the bathrooms and La Colombe coffee in the fridge, two of my favorites and make me feel just at home. Oh, and not to mention the rooftop pool, screening room for movies and really great restaurants inside the building.
Across the street from the hotel are Parlor and Sawada Coffee, two of my other go-to spots. Parlor has a great atmosphere and a killer grilled octopus, which is the key to my heart. Sawada is a cool tucked away coffee shop that opens up into Green Street Smoked Meats with a really fun interior layout and windows looking out to Green St. for easy West Loop people watching.
